Introduction

Using a combination of innovative contracting vehicles and electronic business techniques, SeaPort maximizes the efficiency and economy of the purchase of professional support services at the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA).

Despite this combination, SeaPort does not eliminate the need for acquisition planning. In fact, in order to fully utilize SeaPort's innovative contracting vehicles, acquisition planning is more critical than ever. Remember that the successful execution of a task order can not be accomplished unless requirements can be clearly expressed to the MAC holders.

Numerous items must be considered during acquisition planning to assure that a quality purchase request is generated and that the resulting solicitation and task order adequately meet the needs of the requesting program office.

This section will assist you in your acquisition planning by focusing your attention on those items needed to complete a SeaPort procurement request. If you need assistance in your acquisition planning, please contact a SeaPort contracting officer.
